On February 4, 2025, the Ministry of Commerce and the General Administration of Customs made a decision to implement export controls on items related to tungsten, molybdenum, tellurium, bismuth, and indium. Among them, the tungsten – related items include ammonium paratungstate, tungsten oxide, tungsten carbide not under the control of item 1C226, solid tungsten with certain characteristics (excluding granular and powdered forms), tungsten – nickel – iron alloy or tungsten – nickel – copper alloy with certain characteristics, as well as the technologies and data for producing items 1C004, 1C117.c, and 1C117.d. This export control mainly targets primary tungsten products and some alloys, aiming to protect China’s strategic resources, prevent their excessive outflow, and safeguard national security.
